Our Story
THE BEGINNING
In 2016, we formed mountainFLOW eco-wax with a straightforward mission: provide a simple and eco-friendly way to improve the skiing experience. Our first product was a water-based anti-stick spray that reduced snow and ice buildup on top of skis. This product became popular in the backcountry community, where weight is the name of the game. Reducing snow buildup kept skis light and helped skiers to efficiently venture into the mountains without carrying pounds of unnecessary weight.
NEW PRODUCTS
We soon realized that eco-friendly waxes were a rare commodity in the ski industry. So in 2017 we began testing plant-based glide waxes. We were looking for a product that was easy to apply and that was non-hazardous to the environment.
After 2 years of R&D and over 200 formulations, we developed a line of plant-based wax that worked just as well as conventional, petroleum-based wax.
THE FUTURE
We're excited to expand our line of eco-friendly waxes. Our hope is that the every skier and rider will make the choice to use a product that works great and is more friendly to our mountain playgrounds. Below are some new products that just hit the market.
RACE WAX: We just launched a line of plant-based, non-fluoro race wax. With mountainFLOW's exclusive Ceramic Nanotechnology, our new race wax is competitive with any non-fluoro race wax on the market.
BIKE LUBE, GREASE, + WASH: mountainFLOW's new line of plant-based bike products are taking the industry by storm. Similar to the ski wax situation, nearly all the products on the market are made from petroleum and whatever you put on your bike goes directly into the environment. Our bike products are biodegradable and work just as well as any comparable product on the market.
